  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 4 large tortillas
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, salsa, guacamole

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onions and cook until softened.
  • Add ground beef, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until beef is browned.
  • Remove beef from heat and drain excess fat.
  • Heat a tortilla in a clean skillet over medium heat. Sprinkle cheese on half of the tortilla.
  • Add cooked beef over the cheese and fold the tortilla in half.
  • Cook the quesadilla for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
  • Remove from skillet, slice into wedges, and serve with optional toppings.
