Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups Christmas M&Ms
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
  • Add vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  • Fold in Christmas M&Ms and optional chocolate chips.
  • Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden. Let cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For extra festive cookies, press a few M&Ms on top of the dough balls before baking.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
  • You can freeze the cookie dough for up to 3 months; bake directly from frozen, adding an extra minute or two to the baking time.
