This Creamy Chicken Cordon Bleu recipe combines crispy breaded chicken, savory ham, and melted Swiss cheese, all smothered in a rich and creamy sauce for a comforting and delicious meal.

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Pound chicken breasts to even thickness.
  • Place a slice of ham and cheese on each chicken breast, then roll up and secure with toothpicks.
  • Coat each roll in flour, dip in beaten eggs, then coat in a mixture of breadcrumbs and Parmesan.
  • Heat butter in a skillet and brown the chicken rolls on all sides.
  • Transfer to a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  • In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Simmer until thickened.
  • Pour the creamy sauce over the baked chicken rolls before serving.
