This garlic butter shrimp scampi recipe is a quick and flavorful dish made with succulent shrimp, buttery garlic sauce, white wine, and lemon juice. Serve over pasta or with crusty bread for a restaurant-quality meal at home!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup white wine (or chicken broth)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ¼ cup chopped parsley
  • 8 oz linguine or spaghetti (optional)

Instructions

  • Cook pasta according to package instructions if serving with pasta.
  • Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a large pan over medium heat.
  • Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same pan, melt remaining butter and sauté garlic for 1 minute.
  • Pour in white wine and lemon juice, simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add shrimp back to the pan, toss to coat, and cook for another minute.
  • Stir in red pepper flakes and chopped parsley. Serve over pasta or with bread.

Notes

  • Substitute white wine with chicken broth if preferred.
  • Add extra red pepper flakes for more heat.
  • Serve with parmesan cheese for extra flavor.
