Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breast, sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, add remaining oil, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add broccoli and cook for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  4. Return chicken to the pan. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Pour in the cornstarch slurry and stir until the sauce thickens.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Swap chicken for tofu or shrimp for a variation.
  • Use coconut aminos instead of soy sauce for a soy-free version.
  • Serve with brown rice, quinoa, or cauliflower rice for a complete meal.
