Perfect for a simple yet elegant meal that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then dredge in flour, shaking off the excess.
  2. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook the chicken breasts until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium. Add chicken broth and lemon juice to the skillet, scraping up the browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  5. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and stir until the sauce is smooth.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning sauce over the top. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm with lemon butter sauce drizzled over.

Notes

  • For a creamier sauce, add a splash of heavy cream.
  • Pairs well with rice, mashed potatoes, or a simple side salad.
  • Make sure to pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness for faster, even cooking.
