Ingredients

  • Thinly sliced steak (like ribeye or sirloin)
  • Bell peppers, sliced
  • Yellow onion, sliced
  • Provolone cheese slices
  • Slider rolls or Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • Butter, melted
  • Garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper
  •

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Sauté sliced onions and bell peppers in a skillet until soft and caramelized. Season with salt and pepper.
  • In the same skillet, cook the thinly sliced steak until no longer pink. Season as needed.
  • Slice the rolls in half horizontally, keeping the buns attached. Place the bottom half on a baking dish.
  • Layer cooked steak, sautéed veggies, and provolone cheese over the bottom buns. Add the top buns.
  • Brush melted butter mixed with garlic powder over the tops of the buns.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes, then uncover and bake an additional 5 minutes or until the tops are golden and cheese is melted.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
  •

Notes

  • For a more authentic taste, use ribeye steak.
  • You can substitute provolone with mozzarella or American cheese if preferred.
  • Add mushrooms if you want extra savory flavor.
  • Serve with a side of au jus for dipping.
