8 oz fettuccine or linguine pasta
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tbsp olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
1/2 cup dry white wine
1 cup crushed tomatoes
1/2 cup heavy cream
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)
Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
