Instructions

  1. Trim the woody ends of the asparagus.

  2. In a steamer basket over boiling water, place the asparagus.

  3. Cover and steam for 4–5 minutes until tender-crisp.

  4. Remove and season with salt, olive oil or butter, and a squeeze of lemon if desired.

  5. Serve immediately.
