  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (cold, cut into cubes)
  • ¾ cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 ½ cups walnuts (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together both flours, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until just combined.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing until incorporated.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts.
  7. Divide dough into large 6 oz portions and place on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown but the center remains soft.
  9. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
